US govt's spying powers curbed

In a crushing defeat to the Patriot's Act, the US govt can longer collect the phone records of Americans to hunt for terrorists, once again manifesting the tension between security and freedom. Like the gun laws, it seems that freedom is a more paramount compared to their security. And all this thanks to the whistle-blower Edward Snowden, who first blew the lid on the whole issue of govt spying. But this also makes it more difficult for the Obama administration to rein in terrorism.
