Another example of the arts in Singapore....
One of the functions of the arts (which they share with sports) is to bring people together for bonding, i.e. national/social cohesion.....equivalent of sport is soccer, that cuts cross all demographics and races.....like soccer, the orchestra here brings audience ad the players together.....but more than that, the players include those who are disabled, thus adding an extra layer of meaning to bonding....
Arts thus provide the space for people to come together to bond through producing the artwork, or to enjoy the artwork...
