A good example for the Qn below....one reason bad publicity is possible is due to the widespread use of social media today, such that the moment it happens, practically the whole world knows about it, 'cos the victim (of the exploding phone) will release the news online....

Note the cost of the bad publicity:
The total cost of the recall was estimated to be more than US$6 billion (S$8.5 billion).

But on the upside, bad publicity puts extra incentive on the firm to do even better to ensure mistakes do not repeat themselves, as is the case here for the soon-to-appear Galaxy S8.....
